Abian Design Studio (ADS) has a firm commitment to privacy.
ADS is thus committed to safeguarding your privacy online as a customer, client user or member (collectively as a member). The following policy indicates how your personal information will be treated as you fully use this website. This policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically. For additional information about ADS, please review our Terms and Conditions. ADS does not sell or rent your personal identification to third parties. ADS does provide your personal identification to selected, affiliated companies to allow them to perform services for members on our behalf.
It is the ADS policy to send members only the types of email they elect to receive in addition to ADS customary business communications (address confirmation, renewal notifications, new product offerings, etc.) Further, it is our policy to remove members from any ADS mailing list to which they have subscribed upon request (members will continue to receive regular business communications from ADS). Every opt-in email communication from ADS will contain clear instructions for how the member can remove themselves from that mailing list.
Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to tailor your ADS experience, show content that we think you might be interested in and display the content according to your preferences. We do this in two ways. First, we analyse member information in aggregate - that is, we collect information about thousands of site visits and analyse it as a whole. This kind of study involves looking for trends among many visitors to ADS rather than analysing information about any individual member. Examples include researching which parts of the site are accessed most frequently or determining which products are most attractive to our users. Second, we may use information gathered during your visit to help customise our communications with you. ADS may periodically conduct individual voluntary member surveys. We encourage members to participate in these surveys because they provide us with the necessary information that helps us to improve the types of services we offer and how we provide them to you. The responses we collect in online surveys are anonymous. In the end, we hope to tailor our communications with you to fit your needs - so that you receive more of what you want from us and less of what you do not want.
Updating Your Personal Information:
ADS provides you with many ways to alter your personal data (where available). Please log in to your membership area (when available) and follow the directions to make these changes. Once you have made the desired changes, click the 'Submit New Contact Information' button to save your changes. Various branded versions of the ADS website may not cater for this option.
The Security of Your Information:
We work diligently to protect the security of your personal information, including credit card information (where available), during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. If applicable your data is kept in a highly secure environment protected from access by unauthorised parties. Other than the administrator of this website or other authorised ADS personnel, you are the only person who has access to your personal information. Your user registration is password-protected to prevent unauthorised access. You need to protect against unauthorised access to your password, PINs, and computer by ensuring you log off when finished visiting ADS using a shared computer. This ensures that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe. We recommend that you do not divulge your password or PINs to anyone. ADS will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, ADS cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we will make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
ADS may employ a browser monitor within web pages on our site to determine your browser status and the client-side metrics relating to page loading. We constantly seek ways to improve page load times for our members and may ultimately use these metrics for such purposes. Any such browser monitor will only be active while the user is active on the ADS site. Any such browser monitor will not require an executable (*.exe) application for your protection.
Like most Internet sites, we may use your IP address to help diagnose our server problems and administer this website. Your IP address may also be used to gather broad demographic information. This information is distributed to current and potential advertisers, but only in aggregate form. It does not contain information that identifies individual members.
Where applicable, if you wish to have your registration removed from our directory for any reason, simply use our online registration removal process. If you have any problem removing your registration, please request assistance from the Contact Page.
Advertising and Third-Party Links:
Some ADS advertisers and affiliate partners may request information directly from users or link to sites that do so. ADS has no control over its advertisers' privacy policies and encourages users to review such policies before submitting any personal information. ADS contains non-advertising links to various third-party sites to enhance the member experience. ADS has no control of either the content or privacy policies of such sites, nor should such links be considered an endorsement of these sites except where otherwise noted.
ADS is a general audience website. Protecting the privacy of the young is especially important to ADS. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under 13, and no part of our website is intended for use by those under 13. Children should always ask a parent for permission before sending personal information to anyone online. ADS does not share personal information about users under the age of 13 with third parties, and we do not sell or rent personal information about any of our users, regardless of age. In addition, ADS will not send any direct email offers to users who indicate they are under the age of 13. As a result of the new Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, we are required to prohibit children under 13 who reside in the U.S. from posting ads or using any of the other features of our site that require them to submit information via forms. This is due to the onerous reporting and verification requirements that this new law places on websites that allow children under 13 to submit information via forms. Since we do not have the large, dedicated staff that would be necessary to comply with these requirements, our only option in order to remain in compliance with the law is to prohibit all children under 13 who reside in the U.S. from posting any information via forms on our web site. Therefore, children under 13 who reside in the U.S. should not submit any information via forms on our website, and if you submit such information, you warrant that you are either over the age of 13 or not located in the U.S. and thus not subject to COPPA.
Updates to our information practices:
From time to time, we make changes to our information practices or alter the functionality of our website. We always update this statement accordingly, so we encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on privacy practices at ADS.
Abuse of Terms of Service:
We may provide your personal information to the police or other investigating agencies to assist them in investigating any suspected violations of law. We also have the right to share your name and contact information with our attorneys in the event of severe violations of conduct.
Disclosure of Information:
As a general rule, ADS will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except when we have your permission or under exceptional circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or under the circumstances described below. ADS may disclose account information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating the Terms and Conditions of the ADS products or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the rights or property of ADS, other users of the ADS products, or anyone else that such activities could harm. ADS may disclose or access account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service, and improve our products and services.
If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of the features of the ADS site, but you will not be able to access areas or use features that require registration. You also have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you can accept all cookies, be notified when a cookie is set, or reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies, you will be unable to use those ADS services that require registration to participate. ADS does not sell or rent user information to anyone. We will notify you at the time of data collection or transfer if your data will be shared with a third party, and you will always have the option of not permitting the transfer. If you do not wish to allow your data to be shared, you can choose not to use a particular service.
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online - for example, in ads that you post or through email - that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you're online.
If you have any questions about our privacy policies or other matters, please request assistance from the Contact Page.
